Beta Unveils the Sincro: A New Era for Trials Bikes

Beta, a brand renowned for its performance in the world of trials riding, is set to retire its beloved EVO line and introduce a new generation of trials motorcycles: the Sincro. For over a decade, the EVO has been the bike of choice for numerous championship-winning riders in the FIM Trial World Championship, but now Beta is shifting gears and raising the bar with the Sincro. According to Beta’s latest press release, the Sincro was designed with a singular vision: "to create the perfect SINCROny between rider and bike, a human-machine bond never experienced before, so deep as to transform every gesture into a pure expression of control and smoothness."

The Trials Legacy and the Importance of the Sincro

For those unfamiliar with trials riding, it's a discipline that tests a rider's precision, balance, and technical skill like no other sport. The level of control required in trials competitions has produced some of the toughest off-road riders in the world, many of whom transition into other forms of racing like hard enduro. Riders like Manuel Lettenbichler, Mario Roman, and Billy Bolt are proof of how a solid foundation in trials can help one conquer even the harshest enduro obstacles.
With the Sincro, Beta is building on years of experience and rider feedback to create a bike that offers unparalleled control, agility, and responsiveness.

A Complete Redesign for the Sincro

Beta’s engineers worked closely with factory-level riders to develop an all-new platform for the Sincro. The bike is built around a revised aluminum backbone frame, which has been tweaked to improve handling and weight distribution, ensuring the bike feels even more connected to the rider. The goal was to centralize the bike’s mass for better handling and control, especially when tackling the tight, technical sections of a trials course.
The engine has been completely redesigned, with improvements in low-speed handling and overall performance. While the engine still retains its classic 300cc two-stroke configuration, the internals have been reworked to enhance both response and overall power delivery. Beta’s engineers have reduced the flywheel diameter, weight, and inertia, while increasing the mass of the crankshaft to improve handling and rotational balance. This means the Sincro offers the same snappy, precise throttle response that trials riders demand but with an even more refined feel.

New Features for Enhanced Control

  • Right-Side Kickstarter: One of the first noticeable changes is the switch to a right-side kickstarter, paired with a chain drive on the left side of the bike. While this may seem like a subtle change, it’s indicative of Beta’s focus on optimizing the rider’s experience and the bike’s overall functionality.
  • Electric Start Option: The Sincro 300 models will offer an optional electric start, a feature that should appeal to newcomers or experienced riders alike, particularly in challenging conditions where kickstarting could be difficult.
  • Clutch System: Perhaps one of the most exciting updates for trials riders is the all-new clutch assembly. Beta claims this new clutch system “maintains an optimal behavior under stress,” which keeps the bike’s drive control smooth and reduces fatigue. For anyone who’s battled with arm pump during a long training session or competition, this could be a game-changer, offering a much more comfortable experience for riders.

Weight Distribution and Performance

The overall weight distribution on the Sincro has been optimized to make it feel more agile and precise, with a reduction in weight and a refined powerplant to ensure smooth, effortless control. As a result, riders will experience a deeper connection to the bike, improving their ability to tackle difficult obstacles with better balance, traction, and smoother power delivery.

Looking Ahead: Setting the Standard

Though the Sincro retains the look of the outgoing EVO models, the internal changes — from the engine to the clutch, and the overall weight redistribution — mark a significant leap forward for Beta. The Sincro aims to set the bar for future trials motorcycles, creating a machine that doesn’t just respond to the rider's inputs but amplifies them, offering a more intuitive and connected riding experience.

Availability

The Beta Sincro 300 2-Stroke will hit dealerships in December 2025, making it the perfect option for those looking to take their trials riding to the next level. With its updated features, including the electric start, improved clutch, and reworked engine, the Sincro promises to be the bike to beat in the next generation of trials motorcycles.
